CHESHIRE — The South Point Lady Pointers did a volcano impression.

The South Point Lady Pointers erupted offensively as they rolled to a 30-point halftime lead and cruised past the River Valley Lady Raiders 77-45 Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Jalynn Bradburn scored 26 points and Kayla Fletcher had 23 as South Point improved to 1-2 on the season and 1-0 in the OVC.

Tinesha Taylor added 11 points for the Lady Pointers. T’Ann Mayo had five assists and Fletcher eight steals.

Fletcher scored 11 points and Bradburn 8 in the first quarter as South Point went on an 8-2 spurt to end the quarter and take a 26-21 lead.

“About the middle of the first quarter we kind of exploded on them. Our pressed really kicked in,” said Lady Pointers coach Dave Adams.

Fletcher and Taylor scored 6 each in the second quarter as the lead grew to 47-17 at the half.

Bradburn scored 11 points including a 3-pointer in the third quarter as the lead ballooned to 64-27.

Bradburn and Angelica Stewart combined for 9 points in the fourth quarter.

Brooke Marcum had 13 points and 17 rebounds for River Valley.

South Point hosts Greenup County, Ky., at 6 p.m. Saturday at the current high school gym.
