Rycka Jordan, 30, was charged with escape stemming from a 2002 incident. At that time she was sentenced to 90 days in jail followed by probation.

In May 2003 she admitted to violating the terms of her sanctions and was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

She then served time in West Virginia for charges she faced there. She was returned to Lawrence County recently to complete the case against her here.

Walton gave Jordan credit for time served in jail awaiting conclusion of her case.

Also Wednesday, Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton denied an Ironton’s woman’s request to terminate her home confinement.

Kathryn McGinnis, 51, of 2319 S. Seventh St., had asked that she be allowed to attend church and credit counseling and seek a second job.

She has served 31 days of a 90-day confinement order. McGinnis pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of fourth-degree felony passing bad checks.
