Jail inmate indicted on assault

An Ironton man already facing arson and other charges was indicted on new charges this week stemming from an incident that took place at the Lawrence County Jail.
A Lawrence County grand jury returned two counts of fourth-degree felony assault on a peace officer against Todd Terkhorn, 24, of 1747 Kevin St.
Terkhorn is accused of attacking
Lawrence County Sheriff's deputy Quincy Milem and corrections officer Bill Winters during an incident at the jail July 15.
Terkhorn is in jail awaiting trial on one count of second-degree felony unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance and illegal manufacturing or processing of explosives, first-degree felony of aggravated arson, fourth-degree felony of inducing a panic and a second-degree felony aggravated arson. He is accused of setting off a homemade explosive device at his house May 6.
The grand jury also returned an indictment against an Ironton woman who was accused of shooting her husband- but the indictment was for an incident that took place two weeks earlier.
Karen Lewis-Holroyd, 36, formerly of 522 Hawk St., Ironton, was indicted on one count of second-degree felonious assault.
Lewis-Holroyd is accused of assaulting her husband, Robert Holroyd, 51, with a baseball bat during an argument at their residence July 24.
Two men accused of stealing steel from a Lawrence County business and taking a child along to witness the event were also indicted this week.
Willie Abbott, 20, and Raymond Triplett, 34, both of 1043 Township Road 1125, Proctorville, were each indicted on fourth-degree felony theft and first-degree misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Also, a Newport News, Va., woman accused of causing a July 3 traffic accident in Burlington was indicted on three counts of first-degree misdemeanor vehicular homicide. Catherine Hilton, 48, is accused of running a stop sign on Burlington-Macedonia Road and striking another car. Three people in that car died. That case will be transferred to Lawrence County Municipal Court.
According to information from the Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office, others indicted were:
4Jason Schwartz, 31, 58 Private Drive 622, South Point, one count of first-degree felony aggravated burglary, three counts of second-degree felonious assault with gun charges and one count of first-degree misdemeanor criminal damaging. He is accused of trying to break into an eastern end residence and then getting into a scuffle with three occupants in that house. That incident occurred Aug. 17.
4David Barry, 36, of 42 Township Road 1502, Chesapeake, one count each of third-degree misdemeanor domestic violence, fourth-degree misdemeanor improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle, fifth-degree felony domestic violence, fifth-degree felony domestic violence, fifth-degree felony improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle and three counts of third-degree felony DUI. These charges stem from three separate incidents that occurred on July 15, Aug. 7 and Aug. 9.
4Charles Burns, a.k.a. John Burns, 1111 S. 10th St., Ironton, 37, second-degree felonious assault and fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property.
4Lord D. McIntosh, 19, Detroit, fifth-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine, fourth-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine, second-degree felony possession of crack cocaine, first-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine and fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools.
4Joe C. Jenkins, 32, 1527 S. Third St., Ironton, fifth-degree felony theft and fourth-degree felony theft of dangerous drugs.
4Jason Hubert, 27, 721 Chestnut St., Ironton, four counts of third-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine and fourth-degree felony trafficking in powder cocaine.
4Brenna Hall, 36, 1321 S. Eighth St., Ironton, fourth-degree felony theft.
4Donald Newsome, 40, 95 Township Road 1377, South Point, two counts of third-degree felony domestic violence and two counts of first-degree misdemeanor endangering children.
4Glendell Ray Johnson, 48, 119 Patrick St., Coal Grove, third-degree felony domestic violence.
4Gillette Gottke, 44, 424 County Road 3, Chesapeake, fifth-degree felony deception to obtain dangerous drugs.
4Lisa Burd, 35, 316 Pike St., Coal Grove, three counts of fourth-degree felony theft by deception.
4Cynthia Cranston, 32, second-degree felony complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine and fifth-degree felony permitting drug abuse.
4David Buzzard, 25, 2694 County Road 214, Scottown, fifth-degree felony receiving stolen property.
4Gregory K. Taylor Jr. 19, 2550 County Road 19, Kitts Hill, two counts of first-degree misdemeanor receiving stolen property. This case will be transferred to Ironton Municipal Court for conclusion.
In addition, there were four secret indictments. The grand jury met Monday and Tuesday.
