If you're good during the season, there are good rewards in the postseason.
The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings and Green Lady Bobcats celebrated winning seasons by landing three players each on the All-Southern Ohio Conference basketball team.
The Lady Vikings landed two players on the first team and one on the second unit while coach Lisa Bryant shared the top coaching honor.
Leslie Floyd, a 5-foot-7 senior point guard, and Rebecca Capper, a 5-6 junior, were voted to the first team while 5-6 junior Megan Coomes was a second team pick.
Floyd averaged 10 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.1 steals. Coomes had a 10.1 scoring average and 4.0 rebounds.
Green landed Leigh Ann Williams, a 5-11 senior, and Elista Hall a 5-6 sophomore, on the first team and 5-9 junior Jessica Dyer on the second team.
Williams and Hall each averaged 12 points a game.
Portsmouth Clay won the SOC Division I title for the first time in 25 years. Clay's stellar junior guard Katie Duduit and Eastern's Rebecca Day shared Player of the Year honors.
Bryant was co-Coach of the Year with Clay's Kelly White. Bryant guided the Lady Vikings to a 14-8 record, almost a complete turn around from last season.
Div. II champion Oak Hill had Alyssa Hammond named Player of the Year and Sarah Carsten the top coach.
The Southern Ohio Conference all-star game will be played at South Webster on Monday, March 14.
The girls' game will begin at 6 p.m. with the award ceremony being held between games. The boys all-star game will follow.
Admission is $4.
