Area schools ready for holiday events

It really will look a lot like Christmas Saturday at two area schools.
Kingsbury Elementary will have its first "Winterfest" while West Ironton Elementary will have its annual "Lunch with Santa."
Kingsbury principal Annette Massie said Winterfest will feature a pizza lunch and a visit from Santa Claus. Lunch will be $3 and those who wish to do so may have their picture taken with Santa for $3. Children may also make free crafts. "The whole thing is, we want to buy risers for our programs," Massie said. "We know we won't have enough money this Christmas but in the future, when we do programs this will elevate the children so their parents can see them better."
Santa will also make an appearance at West Ironton. Children at that school can have lunch, take part in crafts and have their picture made with Santa for a small fee.
"The PTC (Parent Teacher Conference) uses this to buy things we can't get through school funding or grants," West Ironton secretary Charla Reedy said. "The list grows every year. We're right now trying to buy a swing set and basketball hoops."
Events
at both schools will be from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.
