Lady Dragons rally late to win

PROCTORVILLE - Things got difficult for the Fairland Lady Dragons, but Kristen Clausing made things a little easier.
Fairland pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a tie and give the Lady Dragons a 3-2 win over the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers Tuesday.
Kristen Clausing got the win and also had a two-run homer.
Ironton took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Lindsey Moorey singled, Julie Belville was safe on an error and a ground out scored the run.
Fairland came back to take the lead in the third inning. Megan Fisher reached on an error and Clausing homered.
The Lady Tigers tied the game in the fourth.
Tracy Mays was safe on an error, took second on Teresa Keating's sacrifice and came home on a hit by Brittani Norris.
The Lady Dragons then won the game in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Allison Hager doubled, Ashley Ward reached on an error to put runners at the corners and Hager scored when Brittany Brunty hit into a fielder's choice.
Hager was 2-3 to lead all hitters.
Clausing got the win although Auxier pitched to one batter in the third inning.
Jamie Parker, Brandi Norris and Mooney had the three Ironton hits. Mays took the loss.
Fairland, 9-5, plays at Coal Grove Wednesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
