A man reported missing at the end of last month turned himself in to the Ironton Police Department for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Ivan Dickens, 34, of Ironton turned himself at the Ironton Police Department Tuesday after being charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a fifth-degree felony. He was transported to the Lawrence County Jail.

Dickens had been last seen Oct. 30 driving a friend's 1990 silver four-door Chevrolet Lumina and was reported missing Oct. 31 after not showing up for work at the End Zone the night before. The car was eventually found on Nov. 11 in an abandoned alley in Huntington, W.Va., with the side window busted out.

Ironton police detective Jim Akers said Dickens was supposed to clean the car for the friend, but instead took it to Huntington and eventually abandoned it. Dickens called his wife, who brought him to the police station to turn himself in, Akers said.

Dickens was in Huntington for the entire time he was missing, but it is not certain why he was there, Akers said.
