CHESAPEAKE - Good competition makes for great viewing.

The competition was good Tuesday night at the Chesapeake Relay Meet and the results proved to be exciting.

Chesapeake won the boys four-team relays with 54 points followed by Ironton with 32, Fairland 30, and Spring Valley (W.Va.) had 14.

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers won the girls meet with 42 points. Close behind was Chesapeake with 34, Fairland 30, and Spring Valley had 20.

"It was a real nice meet and very competitive. There were some races that you could have thrown a blanket over and covered them all they were that close," Panthers coach Phil Davis said. "And the girls had a nice meet. It was a lot of fun."

Teams will return to action at 5 p.m. Friday at the Rock Hill Invitational to be held at the new high school.
