Lady Vikings stay perfect in SOC

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings kept their Southern Ohio Conference record unblemished with an 11-0 rout of the Portsmouth East Lady Tartans Thursday.

Symmes Valley is 14-4 overall and 9-0 in the SOC. The Lady Vikings play at Portsmouth Notre Dame Monday.

The Lady Vikings jump in front 2-0 in the first inning.

With one out, Lori Harmon walked, Stephanie Burns and Kayla Bowman each reached on throwing errors to score a run, and Rebecca Capper singled to center for an RBI.

The lead went to 5-0 in the fourth.

Capper was safe on an error and came home when Erin Martin doubled to center. Martin moved up on a wild pitch and scored when Crabtree was safe on a fielder's choice. Harmon then singled home Crabtree.

Three more runs scored in the fifth and sixth innings.

In the fifth, Capper was hit by a pitch, Martin reached on an error, and Crabtree hit into a fielder's choice. Young singled home a run, Martin scored on a wild pitch, and Crabtree crossed the plate on Harmon's base hit.

In the sixth, Bowman singled, Martin singled, both moved up on a wild pitch, and Crabtree was safe on an error as Bowman scored. Mandy Estep singled him a run, and Cassie Myers grounded out as the final run scored.
