Adams County sheriff's deputies are holding two runaways from the Dennis H. Ball group home, after they allegedly stole a car in Ironton and took it for a joy ride some 50 miles away.

Ironton Police detective, Capt. Chris Bowman said the two boys, ages 15 and 16, were stopped by authorities in Adams County. It was then that deputies there determined the 1989 Ford Escort they were in belonged to Larry Comer of 1308 South Sixth Street.

"The car owner did not know his car had been taken until the police told him what happened," Bowman said.

The keys to the car were left under the front seat.
