Lady Fighting Tigers drop first volleyball match of season

PEDRO -- The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers lost their first match of the season Monday, falling in three sets to the Rock Hill Redwomen, 15-7, 10-15, 14-16.
Rachel Wylie had 12 points to lead Ironton. Ashley McCloud had 9, Candace Ferguson 7, Andrea Rudmann 4, Alexis Reedy and Ashley Hannon 3 each, and Jamie Parker one.
Wylie also had 76 assists, Ferguson 16 kills, and Hannon six kills.
The junior varsity also lost for the first time, 15-5, 12-15, 8-15.
Katie Barnett led Ironton with 11 points Brandi Norris 7, Tracy Mays, Kesha Collins, Casey Brislin, and Ali Markins 4 each, and Stacy Bradshaw one.
Ironton, 4-1, plays at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Portsmouth.
