Routine topics at RH Board meeting

At a special meeting Monday evening, The Rock Hill School Board:
approved an agreement between the school district and the Lawrence County Educational Service Center for a social worker position. The position will pay $42,000 annually in salary and benefits. Medicaid will contribute 25 percent, or about $14,000.
accepted the resignation of William Payton, janitor.
approved a change order in the amount of $1,535.20 to Central Fire Protection for the relocation and reinstallation of sprinkler piping at the new elementary school.
approved application to the Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company, Jim Kennedy, agent, for student accident and athletic insurance for the 2002-2003 school year, at a cost of $14,400.
reviewed price quotes and awarded Valley Foods and Gordon Food Products two contracts to provide both canned goods and meat products to the district during the 2002-2003 school year.
reviewed price quotes and approved a contact with Best One Tire and Service to provide the district tire products for the 2002-2003 school year.
reviewed price quotes and approved a contract with Heiner's Bakery to provide bread products for the 2002-2003 school year.
reviewed price quotes and approved a contract with Modern Foods to provide dairy products for the 2002-2003 school year.
reviewed price quotes and approved a contract with Bulk Plant, Inc. to provide petroleum products for the 2002-2003 school year.
approved the lunch and breakfast prices for the 2002-2003 school year. Prices will remain as last year's prices.
accepted the resignations of Tamara Johnson, high school math teacher; Janette McFann, teacher; Rose Mullins, substitute cook; and Janice Prichard, substitute educational aide.
approved the employment of Douglass Ratliff, Amy Stevens, Connie Pemberton, Luke McFann, Kandi Smith, Greg Sythes, Tara Ferguson, Cycelee Dawne Sims, Melissa McKnight Owens, Matthew O' Bryant, Jerry Wayne Kidd, Marian V. Layne, Nancy L. Webb, Sarah Schwab, Peggy Perkins, Tamara Johnson and Tami Hannon as substitute teachers for the 2002-2003 school year.
approved the charging of two janitors salaries and benefits to the food service program.
approved employment of Nancy Jenkins Hall as an interpreter for the 2002-2003 school year, at a rate of $140 per day.
approved the employment of Clyde Roy Long, Rose Mullins, Thomas Lewis, Tom Henderson, Chester Eugene Stamper, Lori Stewart, Scott Summers and Kevin Lyle Henry as substitute janitors for the 2002-2003 school year, at a rate of $41.20 per day.
approved the employment of Sheila Blankenship and Pamela Stroud as substitute educational aides for the 2002-2003 school year, at a rate of $36.05 per day.
approved the employment of Delores Hackworth, Janice Prichard and Katherine McClaskey as substitute cooks for the 2002-2003 school year, at a rate of $41.25 per day.
approved the employment of Jimmie Ray Wilson as a substitute bus driver for the 2002-2003 school year, at a rate of $36.02 per day.
