The Rock Hill 7- and 8-year-old All-Stars held a tournament and came out as winners, beating Wheelersburg 10-9 in the championship game.
The team accepted an offer to play in the Greenup County (Ky.) All-Star tournament and won that tournament by defeating the host Greenup County 15-7.
This same team of All-Stars won the South Shore, Ky. tournament. Rock Hill was beaten in the first game by the hosts, but the tournament was double elimination so they were put in the loser's bracket. From that bracket, they fought back to win five straight games -- three in one day -- to earn the right to face South Shore in the championship game.
Rock Hill beat the hosts 9-7 in the first game and 15-5 in the second game to claim its third tournament in a row.
The team was coached by Jerry Kidd, Gary Markel, Butch Roberts, Josh Schob and Bob Wilds. From staff reports
