A Lawrence Street Road man was arrested Friday for domestic violence after threatening his family.
Lawrence County Sheriffs deputies say Kristopher Winters, 22, of 3440 Lawrence Street Road, allegedly pulled a double- bladed knife on his mother, father and a younger brother, threatening to kill each of them.
According to reports, Kenneth Winters said his son pulled the knife on him and told him he would kill him if he didn’t give Kristopher prescription medication that had been issued for Kenneth.
Kathy Winters told authorities her son became violent and broke windows out of her car. She said he pulled the knife on her and also threatened to cut the phone lines if she tried to call for help.
According to the report, the younger brother, a juvenile, said Kristopher "went nuts" and threatened him and his parents.
Kristopher Winters fled his home on foot and was
apprehended a short time later by sheriff’s deputies. A broken double-bladed knife was confiscated.
He was arrested, but but rather than being transported to jail, he was taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center for treatment after allegedly ingesting some of his father’s medication. Teresa Moore/The Ironton Tribune
