According to city accounting, 15 people still owe the city money for their slip at the Ironton marina. That equals $2,094 in lost revenue – almost half of the money collected by the city in slip rentals.

At last week’s finance committee meeting, council chair Jim Tordiff said he recommends pursuing the delinquent amounts. Councilman Leo Ulery agreed, saying "don’t give freeloaders any more time."

Mayor Bob Cleary said he would look into the steps the city would need to take to pursue the delinquent funds.

Council will also decide how much to charge boaters that what to moor their boat through the winter months. One recommendation made was to charge a flat fee for November through April, the off season for boating, and not provide electric or water to the boat slips.
