Lawrence County residents who stayed home and didn’t make their way to Proctorville this year for the county fair really missed something.
From the new midway rides, to the crowd-pleasing shows, the Lawrence County Fair Board outdid itself in providing fun for county residents of all ages.
In addition to the entertainment, the improvements to the fairgrounds made a visit to the event even more pleasant, with clean, well-kept grounds and plenty of places to enjoy an evening with the family.
Add to that some first-rate livestock shows and plenty of food to choose from, and this year’s fair week was nothing short of a great success.
As this fair ends, the board will begin planning for next year and reviewing what went right and wrong at this year’s exposition.
Although there were some challenges, mostly from the weather, fair board members, 4-H clubs and advisers and parents and every other person who volunteered their time this year should be proud of the work they put into making the fair a success for visitors and participants alike.
Your hard work was noticed, appreciated and well-spent.
