Open Door students release biodegradable balloons Wednesday to kick off Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The month is designed to increase the public’s awareness and understanding of people who have mental retardation and other development disabilities so these citizens will have increased access in the community to employment, education, housing and social opportunities. The school will have a chili cook-off March 25.
