Just as Johnny Cash and June Carter once sang, “I’m going to Jackson,” so are the Ironton Fighting Tigers.

Ironton will play the New Lexington Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Division IV Region 15 semifinals at Jackson High School’s football stadium.

The playoff game will be the second at Jackson for Ironton. The Fighting Tigers played Westfall in the 2005 regional semifinals.

The game will be the first meeting ever between the two schools. Ironton (8-3) advanced by beating Westfall 41-31 and New Lexington (10-1) routed Meigs 42-14.
