Robbery suspects among those indicted

A man arrested in June in connection with the holdup of the University Mart in Ironton and a Kitts Hill man arrested in connection with a South Point robbery in June were among 46 people indicted last week by a Lawrence County Grand Jury.

Joshua Wiseman, 26, of 478 Private Drive 13, Ironton, was indicted on charges of aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence. Ironton police arrested Wiseman one day after he allegedly went to the University Mart on Liberty Avenue armed with a knife and demanded money.

Shawn A. Morrison, 18, of 414 County Road 54, Kitts Hill, was indicted on one count each of aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence. Morrison was arrested in late June after authorities said he went into the Clark’s Pump N Shop on County Road 144, South Point, brandished a knife and demanded money.

According to information from the office of Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr., 20 of the 46 indictments were secret and were drug-related; one secret indictment was for criminal non-support.

Others indicted were:

• Terry Gibson, 21, of Flatwoods, Ky., one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

• John Large, 40, of 52 Township Road 338, Ironton, one count of breaking and entering. Large is accused of breaking into the Woodland Cemetery Abbe .

• Gregory Spears Jr., 22, 3116 S. Fourth St., Ironton, one count each of breaking and entering and receiving stolen property.

• Adam Bare, 22, of 2827 S. Ninth St., Ironton, three counts of felonious assault. He is accused of assaulting three autistic children in his care.

• Donny Cremeans, 33, 1101 Township Road 199, Pedro, one count each of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, domestic violence and felonious assault.

• Jeffrey Leffingwell, 25, 55 Township Road 1309, Proctorville, one count of burglary.

• Timothy A. Smith, 32, 54A Private Drive 70, South Point, one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor; the victim was a 13-year-old girl.

• Douglas Price Jr., 28, of 4300 County Road 15, South Point, one count each of passing bad checks and theft from the elderly.

• Michelle Bleigh, 33, of Huntington, W.Va., one count of illegal processing of drug documents.

• Joseph Barker, 31, 317 Neal Ave., Ironton, two counts of misuse of a credit card and one count each of theft, forgery and failure to comply with the order and signal of a police officer.

• Cathy Swed, 43, of 186 Township Road 181, Ironton, two counts of passing bad checks and one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

• Johnny Lewis, 28, of 6351 County Road 12, Proctorville, two counts of felony receiving stolen property, one count each of misdemeanor resisting arrest and breaking and entering.

• Natasha Strunk, 24, 25624, of 256 County Road 45, Ironton, one count each of aggravated possession of drugs and endangering children.

Jesse Emery, 20, of 160 Township Road 1131, Proctorville, one count each of failure to comply with the order and signal of a police officer and receiving stolen property.

• Cameron Blake, 27, of Huntington, W.Va., one count of intimidation.

• Thomas C. Petty, 29, of 905 Gary Malone St., South Point, failure to provide change of address as is required under his sex offense conviction.

• Samantha Wheeler, 22, of Ashland, Ky., one count each of complicity to theft and receiving stolen property, and her two codefendants.

• Michael Adkins-Jenkins, 24, also of Ashland, one count of felony theft, one count each of misdemeanor theft, criminal damaging and criminal trespass.

• Cassie Prince, 19, one count each of felony receiving stolen property and misdemeanor receiving stolen property.

The grand jury met Thursday and Friday of last week.
