As one fisherman said to the other, “You should have seen the one that got away.”

Green saw an 11-point lead vanish in the fourth quarter as the South Gallia Lady Rebels nipped the Lady Bobcats 47-46 Saturday in a non-league game.

“We had our chances, we just missed some shots and some free throws that would have put it away,” said Green coach Dale Royse. “This was disappointing because this was a game we could have won.”

South Gallia took a 15-14 lead in the first quarter despite Green’s Ashlee Runyon who hit three trifectas.

Green came back to take a 23-21 halftime lead and opened up a 40-29 lead after three quarters.

But the Lady Bobcats could only manage six points in the fourth quarter as South Gallia rallied to win.

Adrianne Blankenship had 14 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and eight steals before fouling out to lead Green (5-3).

Runyon had a game-high 16 points including five 3-point goals. Lauren Jones added 10 points and four rebounds.
