“We got behind and could never get going. We never got back from where we needed,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

After falling behind 12-3 in the first quarter, Green got within six points in the second quarter before Clay was able to pull back out to a 22-13 halftime lead.

“We’ll battled back, we just couldn’t get over the hump,” said Royse.

“We played hard. (Gidget) Timberman played well. She created a lot of havoc and gave us a chance to get back in the game, but we would turn the ball over.”

Adrianne Blankenship scored 13 points and had eight rebounds to lead Green (5-4, 4-2). Lauren Jones grabbed 12 rebounds.

Katie Wheeler had 18 points and Dani Summers 13 for Clay.
