Michael Roush

Michael Kenneth Roush, 62, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born June 23, 1949, the son of Glendon Roush of Ironton, who survives and the late Ruth Malone Roush. He is also survived by his wife, Jacqueline Cales Roush, whom he married Feb. 9, 2000.

Mike was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a former employee of AK Steel Maintenance Department for 30 years. He attended Sharon Baptist Church in Ironton.

In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by: son and daughter-in-law: Jason Scott and Cherlynn Rose Roush of Ironton; son: Shawn Michael Roush of Ironton; son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Christy Richardson of Ironton; a sister and brother-in-law: Patty and Greg Freeman of Ironton; six granddaughters: Reagan Elise Roush, Olivia Paige Roush, Holly Belle Roush, Latisha Renne Roush, and Hannah Nichole Roush all of Ironton, and Jacquelyn Richardson of Washington, Illinois; a grandson: Robert Richardson of Washington, Illinois; two great-granddaughters: Graclyn Mae Richardson and Emma Richardson of Washington, Illinois; a niece: Valerie Freeman of Ironton; a special friend: Jim Massie of Kitts Hill.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton.
