“I thought we stood around too much in the first quarter, but then Jordyn Cox just took over in the second quarter,” said Lady Hornets’ coach Nick Miller.

“Taylor Sexton did a nice job. Her game has come around and she has shot the ball well.”

Sexton scored 10 points including a pair of 3-pointers. Chelsea Delong, Hope Ratcliff and Amanda Collins also had a trey.

Coal Grove led just 13-10 at the end of the first quarter, but Cox scored 15 points in the second quarter as the lead went to 33-17 at the half.

“Rock Hill played well and executed well in the first quarter. They did a nice job. Leah Terry playing gave them a lift,” Miller said about Terry who had been out all season due to a knee injury.

Cox had 11 more points in the third quarter as the Lady Hornets stretched the lead to 55-22.

Miller played his reserves in the fourth quarter.

Courtney Duncan scored 11 points and Brittany Thompson nine to lead the Redwomen.
