ACTC presents Disney’s ‘Alice in Wonderland Jr.’

Ashland Community and Technical College Children’s Theatre will present the musical, Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland Jr.,” Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20 and 21, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2:30 p.m. in the J. B. Sowards Theatre on the College Drive Campus.
The cast of 40 children in third to ninth grades will sing and dance their way through a charming production that is entertaining for all ages.
Watch Alice’s madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with the Tweedles, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game.
This fast-paced adaptation features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as “I’m Late,” “The Un-birthday Song” and “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.”
The production is based on the 1951 Disney film “Alice in Wonderland” and the novels, “The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking Glass,” by Lewis Carroll.
Book adaptation and additional lyrics are by David Simpatico. Music adaptation and arrangement as well as additional music and lyrics, are by Bryan Louiselle. Further music and lyrics are by Sammy Fain and Bob Hilliard, Oliver Wallace and Cy Coban, Allie Wrubel and Ray Gilbert, Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston.
Karen Curnutte, ACTC Children’s Theatre Director, is the production director. Brian Cook, ACTC/MSU graduate, is the Assistant Production Director. Edward Figgins, ACTC Director of Theatre, is the Producer and Scenic/Lighting Designer. Max Jackson, ACTC Professor Emeritus of Music, is the Musical Director. Paula Krepsik is the Costume Designer.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students/seniors and groups of 10 or more.
