COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio State football coach Luke Fickell says safeties coach Paul Haynes has been promoted to co-defensive coordinator and running backs coach Dick Tressel will take on the added role of special teams coordinator.

Fickell announced changes to the program on Thursday.

Haynes, starting his seventh season at Ohio State, will work alongside defensive coordinator Jim Heacock. He’s in his 16th coaching season overall.

Tressel is in his eighth year as running backs coach and his 35th season as a college coach.

Other changes include the promotion of Amy Burgess to director of internal operations and the naming of Tom Dunlap as associate director of football operations.

Jerry Emig has been named an associate director in the athletics communications office and will serve as the primary football communications representative.
