Proceeds to benefit church center
The music lineup for the First Baptist Church Faith and Fitness Center street fair, set for this weekend, has been announced.
Amy Barnes, who is helping plan the first-ever event, said What’s Cookin With Granny will sing at 3 p.m. Friday, followed by Steve Shelton at 6 p.m. Irish Town will sing at 8 p.m. Then on Saturday, The First Baptist Church Praise Team will perform at noon, followed by Crossing Jordan at 1 p.m., Tony Dilley at 3 p.m. and Mike Reeves at 6 p.m.
In addition to the music, there will be a craft fair and product showcase in the Faith and Fitness Center. Each day from 11 a.m.- 8 p.m., consultants from Avon, BeautiControl, Thirty One (purses and handbags), Mary Kay Cosmetics, The Pampered Chef and Scentsky (perfumes) will be on hand to answer questions and give advice about their products.
There will also be a cake walk, dunking booth, games for children and food booths.
The street fair is one of several events planned by the church to benefit its faith and fitness center, opened in 2009 to serve not only the church but the whole community.
“We just want to get the word of Christ out into the community,” Barnes said.
