Franklin Carmon

Franklin Benjamin Carmon, 79, of Ironton, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at his residence.

The Lawrence County native was born July 7, 1931, the son of the late Benjamin and Ida Mae Abrams Carmon.

Mr. Carmon attended Bartels School. He was a former coal miner for Collins Mining Company and a member of the Moose Lodge. He was also of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Adam C. Carmon; a step-son, Ryan D. Aldridge; a grandson, Douglas D. Carmon; a brother, Arthur Carmon and two sisters, Ruby Depriest and Imogene Pinkerman.

He is survived by five sons, Wayne Carmon, David Carmon, Frank C. Carmon, Jerry Carmon, all of Ohio and Larry Carmon of Florida; two daughters, Beverly McCarty of Florida and Rhonda France of Ohio; a step-son, Donald Large of Ohio a brother: Billy Carmon of Ohio; 26 grandchildren several great grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; his first wife, Wilma J. Philips Carmon and a second wife, Linda Aldridge Carmon.
