COAL GROVE — Organizers are putting the final touches on the 2009 edition of the Coal Grove Family Fun Days.
Sponsored by the Village of Coal Grove and the Coal Grove Betterment Club, the event will be 4 to 10:30 p.m. July 1-3 at Paul Porter Park.
One new feature this year is an appraisal event with well-known area appraiser Porky Nichols.
This event will be 4-8 p.m. July 3. Firearms are not permitted at the event.
“The cost will be $1 for each item appraised with a maximum of five items allowed by any one individual,” CGBC Secretary Carol Gool explained.
Traditional favorites are also on schedule: a Chinese auction and a cake and pie auction featuring homemade treats.
“This is always an exciting time for all concerned and the winners are guaranteed some delicious cakes and pies if they win the bidding war. Dan Fulks will again be our auctioneer,” Gool said.
The grand finale is a fireworks display. Admission is free.
