Four people were taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a two-car accident in the 3000 block of South Third Street.
Ironton Police Chief Jim Carey said Richard L. Heaberlin, 41, of 204 Rose St., Ironton, was northbound on South Third when his car collided with a Patriot Ambulance that was transporting a patient to the hospital.
The patient, Harry Ray, of Ironton, and two emergency services workers, Tony Wilson and Malea Wilson, were all taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky., for treatment. Heaberlin was also taken to the hospital.
Carey said it was his understanding that Coal Grove Police were searching for Heaberlin after he reportedly struck another vehicle and a guardrail in the village.
