A portion of North Fifth Street in Ironton will be closed Wednesday while it’s being paved.

Ironton Mayor Rich Blankenship said the area between Hecla and Etna streets will be closed. Workers plan to start early and the project is expected to only take the day, Blankenship said.

The mayor asked that residents remove their parked cars and avoid the area for the day.
