SOUTH POINT — River’s Bend Health Care recently was awarded the 2010 Business Member of the Year award from Sam’s Club of South Point. Beth King, Membership Assistant Manager, presented Ron Lyons, owner of River’s Bend, with a plaque and gift certificate.

The award coincided with National Small Business Week, which took place May 16 through 20.

“River’s Bend is an outstanding member and we’re very pleased to recognize them as our business member of the year for 2010,” King said. She said the Sam’s Club located in South Point serves southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky and western West Virginia and has about 65,000 total members, of which about 35,000 are business members.

The Sam’s Club member services committee selects a spotlight business member for recognition each month, and at the end of the year the committee votes on which one deserves the overall award.

King announced a grand re-opening event for the public on Thursday to showcase the newly remodeled Sam’s Club store in South Point.
