Robert C. Brammer

Robert C. Brammer, 83, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Leatherwood native was born April 5, 1928, the son of the late Custer and Ollie Sites Brammer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bessie White Brammer, who passed away Nov. 23, 1999. Mr. Brammer was a former oven operator for the Dayton Malleable Iron Company, retiring after 46 ½ years of service in 1993. He attended the Ironton City Mission Church.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Lee Brammer and Daniel Ray Brammer; three sisters, Susie Smith, Verna Estes, and Gladys Sites; and four brothers, Merril Brammer, Donald Brammer, Harold Brammer and Averil Brammer.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ralph Waddle of South Point; four sons and a daughter-in-law: Michael Brammer of Ironton, Larry and Terri Brammer of Ironton, Tim Brammer of Ostrander and James Brammer of Ironton; a brother, Bernard Brammer of Ironton; a sister, Mable Saunders of Gallipolis; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Dalton and Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
