No charges expected in fatal accident

SOUTH POINT — No charges are expected to be filed in an accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on U.S. 52 Saturday night.
Kenneth J. Sherman, 45, of South Point, was walking from the left lane into the right lane when he was struck by two separate vehicles driven by Amy Snodgrass-Crawford, 36, of South Point and Mark Carter, 31, of Portsmouth. The accident happened approximately 11:13 p.m. Saturday.
Sherman, who was wearing dark clothing, was walking eastbound in the roadway near the Lowe’s at South Point.
When the first car knocked him down, the driver pulled off the highway. Then he was struck by the second car, according to Lt. Michael Gore of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County Coroner’s Assistant Bill Nenni.
The drivers of the two vehicles were not injured.
