Staff report

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ironton had a successful “Mingle Bells” event on Tuesday, Dec. 17, evening at Mailroom Studios.
Nearly 50 community members gathered for an evening of networking, learning and celebration, as attendees discovered more about the Kiwanis mission to help children.
One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of a $7,000 check to the Lawrence County Developmental Disabilities Open Doors School. This contribution will fully fund the first phase of their playground expansion project—adding additional swing sets and accessible features that ensure every child has the opportunity to play, learn, and thrive.
“The energy in the room was incredible,” said Sean Davis, club president. “It’s inspiring to see so many people eager to join our mission of serving children. With the generous support of our fundraisers, and through our ongoing projects, we’re creating spaces where all kids can just be kids.”
Hosted by Mailroom Studios in Ironton, the event was supported by local businesses and community leaders. The presentation of the oversized check—provided by Oops! I Shirt Myself—added a festive element to the evening’s proceedings, underscoring the importance of community-based projects and tangible results.
