The Ironton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian who was killed on U.S. 52 near Ironton around midnight on July 4.

According to a OSHP spokesman, the accident occurred at mile marker 7 on U.S. 52 eastbound, which is between the Ohio 141 exit and Ohio 93 exit.

The spokesman said that there were rainy conditions at the time of the crash.

The case remains under investigation and no further details, including the name of the person who was hit, are being released at this time.
