Wallace, Brammer spark Ironton win over Russell

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers must have stopped by Charlie’s Tire Sales for a new battery because their battery was fully charged on Saturday.
Pitcher Braylin Wallace fired a 3-hitter and catcher Graycie Brammer went 3-for-4 with 3 runs batted in as Ironton blanked the Russell Lady Red Devils 5-0.
Wallace struck out 16 and did not issue a walk in going the distance as Ironton won its 12th straight.
Ironton (16-4) had 8 hits with Emily Weber going 2-for-2. Khamil Martin 1-2 with an RBI, Aubrey Ferguson 1-3 with an RBI, and Katelyn Moore 1-2.
Ironton snapped a scoreless tie with a run in the third inning.
Weber got a leadoff walk, went to second on a passed ball, took third on a sacrifice by Katie Williams and scored on a hit by Brammer.
The Lady Fighting Tigers came back with 4 runs in the fourth inning.
Moore started the inning with a double, Wallace walked, Weber had an infield hit to load the bases and Brammer clutched up for a second time with a 2-run single scoring pinch-runners Olivia Wilson and Jenna Compliment.
Martin singled home Weber and Ferguson got a base hit to drive in courtesy runner Brae-Leigh Thomas.
Karson Honaker was 2-3 and Paige Hutchinson 1-3 with a double for Russell (15-6).
Lili Smith took the loss as she gave up 4 earned runs, struck out 7 and walked 7.
