Sports medicine conference to take place May 21

ASHLAND, Ky. — Are you a coach, athletic trainer or parent of a high school or college athlete?
Then join in for the Sports Medicine Conference from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 21, in the King’s Daughters Health Education Center (lower level, Lexington Avenue Parking Garage).
Area sports medicine experts will discuss a wide range of sports-related healthcare topics facing young athletes, including:
• upper extremity injuries
• wrist and hand injuries
• core stabilization
• dehydration effects and prevention
• post concussion assessment and intervention
• prevalent knee injuries
The following physicians are scheduled to speak at the conference:
• Orthopedic surgeon Kevin Kulwicki, M.D.
• Physical medicine and rehabilitation physician Scott Akers, M.D.
• Primary care sports medicine physician Andy Gilliland, M.D.
