ALBANY — Now this is what you call a “30 for 30” story.

South Webster’s Eli Roberts scored 31 points while Fairland Dragons Chase Allen scored a career-high 33 points in a matchup at the Alexander Holiday Tournament on Saturday.

But the Jeeps got enough support for Roberts to hold on for a 57-53 win.

Roberts scored 7 points and Tyler Sommer hit a 3-pointer and scored all 4 of his points as the Jeeps took a 13-8 first quarter lead.

Allen had half of Fairland’s total.

South Webster (8-0) extended the lead to 33-22 at the half as Jack Timothy scored 9 points and Roberts hit a trey as he scored 7 points in the second quarter.

Brody Buchanan and Allen each hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points to account for all of the Dragons scoring.

Fairland (5-3) cut into the Jeeps’ lead as Allen took charge by draining a 3-pointer and scored 11 points and it was now 43-37 at the end of the third quarter.

Allen heated up even more in the fourth quarter as he knocked down 3 more shots from behind the arc and scored 11 of Fairland’s 16 points in the quarter.

But Roberts hit a trifecta and a couple of foul shots as he scored 9 points and South Webster managed to hold on for the win.

Buchanan finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Noah Marcum grabbed 10 rebounds and Keegan Smith had 5. Allen also had 3 assists and 2 steals.

Roberts had a double-double as he grabbed 11 rebounds. Timothy scored 11 points and Sommer had 5 rebounds for the Jeeps.
