ASHLAND, Ky. — The Tribune and other papers in the Tri-State may want to be a little more careful than usual about their headlines in May, lest they want to serve as material for a famous visitor.
Comedian Leno, the former host of nearly 22 years for NBC’ Tonight Show, will be preforming a stand-up comedy show at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland on May 31, 2024.
Known for his tenure on the show, which included bits such as Jaywalking, Beyondo, Iron Jay and Headlines, Leno, since his retirement from that job, has produced the show Jay Leno’s Garage, centered around his automotive enthusiasm and collection of classic cars, for 8 years and hosted a revival of the Groucho Marx quiz show “You Bet Your Life” for two years.
An inductee of the Television Hall of Fame and multi-time Emmy Award winner, Leno began his stand-up career in the 1970s, and landed the permanent guest host slot on Carson’s Tonight Show in 1986, before taking the main host job with Carson’s retirement in 1992.
He has appeared as a recurring role in Tim Allen’s sitcom, Last Man Standing, and, in recent years, has done animation voice work for The Fairly Oddparents and Disney’s Mickey and the Roadster Racers.
Tickets for Leno’s performance at the Paramount will range in price from $49.99-$109.
