FRANKLIN FURNACE — Forget the economy. Times are good right now from the Green Lady Bobcats.

Green picked up its fourth straight victory Wednesday with a 14-4 win in six innings over the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“The girls are playing with a lot of confidence,” said Green coach Dale Royse. “We’re hitting the ball pretty good right now. We just need to keep working and go out there and battle.”

Jenna Crawford went the distance for the win as she gave up seven hits, struck out seven and walked two.

Gidget Timberman led an 11-hit attack by going3-5. Dinah McCloud was 2-3 and Kayla McCallister 2-4.

Green (4-2, 2-0) took a 3-0 lead in the first inning Timberman singled, Krashawna Jones reached on an error, Brea Johnson walked, Sami Crisp was safe on a missed third strike and McCloud singled.

Timberman singled, stole second and scored on a passed ball as the lead went to 4-0 in the second inning.

After the Vikings got a run in the third, Green came back with three in the fourth.

Johnson singled, Crisp was hit by a pitch, McCloud walked and McCallister had a three-run hit.

Symmes Valley used hits by Roach, Brumbaugh and Hill plus a ground out to score three times in the fifth, but Green got seven in the sixth to end the game.

Jones singled, Johnson was safe on a fielder’s choice and Crisp singled to load the bases. McCloud’s ground out scored a run, McCallister singled in one and Micah Lewis had a two-run double.

Crawford walked, Timberman singled, Jones walked and Johnson reached on an error as the clinching runs scored.
