COAL GROVE — Hattie L. Bryant, 91, of Coal Grove, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, at King’s Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 6, 1919, the daughter of the late Ernest and Effie Sealy Hunley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester N. “Teddy” Bryant.
Mrs. Bryant was a former stock room clerk for G. C. Murphy’s and a former housekeeper for the Ramada Inn in South Point. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Mae Holtzapfel, Lucy Pierce, and Violet Holland; and four brothers, Carl, Raymond, Frank and Adam Hunley.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carol and James Matney of Coal Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Kathie Bryant of Coal Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Shayne Bryant of Franklin Furnace; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Gregory Matney and James Matney officiating. Friends may visit Thursday from noon until 1 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net
