Entrepreneurs always drive our economy ahead

Economists and talking heads aren’t necessarily the best sources when it comes to determining if the national recession is in fact over. Individuals like Kim Ward serve as a far better litmus test.
Ward is among a growing number of entrepreneurs who have decided to start a new business or grow their existing one.
The South Point woman decided to follow somewhat in her father’s footsteps by opening Ward’s Pizza in the village.
This is a brave move considering the economy and the challenges with operating a successful restaurant.
We hope village residents reward this restaurateur by dining at the pizza place.
But Ward isn’t alone. A number of other business owners have taken leaps of faith by looking to expand their businesses.
Two recent examples are Glitters and The Corner Diner, both of which moved from Coal Grove to Ironton.
Small businesses have been, and will continue to be, the lifeblood of our nation’s economy.
These are the businesses that employ our friends and neighbors, all while injecting money into the local economy.
We hope all of these are successful and individuals who’ve always dreamed of owning their own business follow this positive example.
