Incident happened on U.S. 52 near Ohio Furnace

A Scioto County man was robbed at gunpoint as he worked on his car Friday.

According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Thomas Lowe, of Sciotoville, was working on his disabled vehicle along the side of the road on U.S. 52 near Ohio Furnace Road around 5:20 p.m. Friday.

Two white males in a blue pickup truck pulled over onto the side of the road and approached the man while brandishing a weapon.

The men reportedly robbed Lowe of money and other valuables from his vehicle, then fled the scene driving on U.S. 52 toward Hanging Rock.

The victim was not injured
