Sheriff’s Reports

Burglary- 300 block of County Road 3, Chesapeake, Saturday, woman reports she woke up to a man going through her dresser drawers.

Breaking and entering- Township Road 253W., Ironton, Thursday, woman reports several tools taken from a workshop.

Petty theft- 200 block of Township Road 1186, South Point, woman reports that a neighbor signed for and kept a package intended for her. Suspect named.

Criminal damaging- OL Bottle, South Point, Sunday, man reports he left a vehicle in the parking lot overnight and returned to find it damaged.

Theft- 5200 block of County Road 15, South Point, Sunday, woman reports her daughter’s car was taken from a driveway. Suspect named.

Domestic violence- 100 block of Private Drive 64, Proctorville, Sunday, woman reports her son choked her and hit her in the chest. Brandon S. Carter, 26, of 143 Private Drive 64, Proctorville, arrested.

Cruelty to animals- 9400 County Road 1, South Point, Sunday, deputy observes a skinny dog and a deceased dog in a yard. William Branham, 38, of 9433 County Road 1, South Point, arrested.

Theft- Private Drive 302, South Point, Saturday, hotel worker allegedly pocketed customer’s money. Misty N. Ashworth, 34, of 525 County Road 1A, Ironton, arrested.

Criminal trespass- 100 block of Private Drive 11202, Chespeake, man reportedly tried to get into a house. Curtis L. Adkins, 33, of 104 Private Drive 3 Apt. 3, Chesapeake, arrested for trespassing. Angela D. Meade, 35, of 104 Private Drive, Apt. 3 Chespeake arrested.

Petty theft- 300 block of Private Drive 288, South Point, Friday, Walmart loss prevention officer reports a woman concealed items in her coat and did not attempt to pay for them. Cassandra Stender, 27, of 2906 Hash Ridge Road, Barboursville, W.Va., arrested and taken to jail.

Ironton Police

Trouble- Eighth and Mulberry, 8:16 a.m. Friday, man is reportedly starting a fire in a yard and throwing things. Subject advised.

Shoplifter- Speedway at Eighth and Park Avenue 2:25 p.m. Friday, caller requests officer in reference to a female allegedly caught shoplifting. Store is handling it at this time.

Runaway juvenile- 600 block of Cliff Street 2:50 p.m. Friday, woman requests officers to meet her, says her daughter is there. All parties advised.

Theft- 400 block of Ashtabula, 5:45 p.m. Friday, woman reports someone stole a copper pipe. Information for report.

Trouble- Second and Vernon streets, 6:27 p.m. Friday, couple reportedly arguing. Subjects have decided to quit and go inside.

Suspicious activity- Spriggs Distributing, 7:20 p.m. Friday, person reportedly in building. Worker, all secure.

Trouble- Pick’n Save, 9:11 p.m. Friday, store customers report four or five men fighting in the parking lot. Subjects were playing around.

Prowlers- 2200 block of South Sixth Street, Friday, 9:41 p.m. man reports someone snooping around his neighbor’s house. Negative contact.

Intoxicated person- McDonald’s, Friday, man reports two people in a vehicle were drunk and had open containers. Vehicle stopped just past Coryville. Just a warning, not intoxicated..

Trouble- Fuzzy Duck 11:05 p.m. Friday, woman reports her live-in boyfriend tried to run over her and a child. Unable to locate.

Loud music- Murphy’s Bar, 11:39 p.m. Friday, caller requests officer to go to bar and ask to turn down music. Advised of complaint, not unusually loud.

Object through window- 1300 block of South First Street, 11:56 p.m. Friday, caller reports someone threw something through a window and the object hit the caller’s son.

Runaway- 500 block of Walnut Street, 1:35 a.m. Saturday, woman reports her 14-year-old daughter sneaked out of the house.

Trouble- Peddlers, 3:13 a.m. Saturday, caller reports a fight. Subjects left prior to arrival, will stay close in the area.

Vandalism- Carey Tires, 3:11 p.m. Saturday, front glass broken. Key holder notified, damage due to high winds earlier.

Suspicious activity- US Bank, Saturday, man reports a man and woman keep going through drive-thru after each customer leaves. ATM captured their card and they were waiting to see if it was returned after next customer.

Trouble- Thompson and McPherson streets, 7:06 p.m. Saturday, woman reports she heard a car outside and then a woman crying in the ditch area near her home. Spoke to caller, negative contact.

Assault- 200 block of Vernon Street, 9 p.m. Saturday, woman reportedly locked out and assaulted. Declined to press charges.

Vandalism- 600 block of Mill Street, 2:01 a.m. Sunday, woman reports someone threw garbage into the side of her vehicle. Suspect was an ex, no damage.

Trouble- Shenanigan’s 3:10 a.m. Sunday, multiple callers report a fight. Half of them left prior to arrival, remaining ones declined to cooperate or identify others.

Loud music- 400 block of South Seventh Street, 4:14 p.m. woman reports a neighbor is playing loud music. Advised to keep it down.

Domestic- 700 block of South Ninth Street, 7:50 p.m. Sunday, man reports his wife has people over and he doesn’t want her to. No charges, all parties advised.

Stolen auto- 7:52 p.m. Sunday, man reports his sister stole his car. Recovered in Coal Grove.

Theft- 10:22 p.m. Sunday, man reports someone wrote checks in his name. Information for report.
