There’s offense and defense. Unfortunately, the St. Joseph Female Flyers only did one phase well.

The Female Flyers struggled offensive and lost 59-22 to the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans Monday.

“We had good shots, we just didn’t make them and we can’t afford to miss those shots against good teams,” said Female Flyers’ coach Nick Miller.

St. Joseph (6-4) was led by Katie Hacker with six points. Molly Miller, Sarah Neal and Becca Patrick all scored four each.

Phillips scored 13 and Arnzen 11 to lead the Lady Titans (10-5).

Notre Dame grabbed a 12-4 lead in the first quarter and went up 26-10 at the break. The Lady Titans outscored Female Flyers 33-12 in the second half to clinch the win.

FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Eastern Lady Eagles had four players in double figures as they beat the Green Lady Bobcats 73-35 Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“Eastern is a really solid team. They’ve gotten better as the season has gone along,” said Green coach Bucky Bridges.

The young Lady Bobcats were led by Jenna Crawford with a game-high 22 points. She also had eight rebounds while Sami Crisp had five rebounds. Breanna Johnson added four assists and two steals.

Green (1-19, 1-13) will play Leesburg Fairfield at 6:15 p.m. next Monday in the Division IV sectional tournament at Northwest High School.
