Roy Clifford Daniel, 69, of Ironton passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. Roy was born in Ohio Furnace May 15, 1941, the son of the late Walter Daniel and Ella Prince Daniel.

Roy graduated from Green High School in 1959. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1959 and served his country for 20 years. He was stationed in many places including Vietnam, England, Italy and several bases in the United States. After retiring from the Air Force he taught at Collins Career Center for 20 plus years. He taught many students, some of their children now go to Collins Career Center.

Roy loved to travel with his wife Judy and their little dog Sassi. His favorite lyric of any song was, “On the road again.”

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother just a few months old and a sister, Ruby Klaiber.

Roy is survived by his wife, Judy Elvena Lintz Daniel whom he married June 27, 1961; four children: Sherri Daniel of Wheelersburg, Shelli Townsend of Ironton, Michael and JoAnn Daniel of Oklahoma, Sean Daniel and Amy Miller of Ironton; four grandchildren: Spencer, Jessica, Molly and Ethan Daniel; two sisters: Patty and Don Voiers of Ironton, Shirley and Dale Neal of Wheelersburg; brother-in-law Jim Lintz and his wife Katie; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a man of many talents, not least, the ability to be a friend, neighbor and most of all – a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. When he was most sick his sense of humor still shined through and when you’d ask him how he felt he always answered, “fine.” He will be greatly missed. We love you Roy Clifford Daniel.
