FAIRFAX, Va. — An agent for suspended Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth says the player is innocent of accusations that he assaulted a driver during a road rage incident.

Chad Speck, Haynesworth’s agent, released a statement late Friday saying the accuser is seeking fame and money.

Fairfax County police said Friday a warrant had been issued for an assault charge against Haynesworth. Police say a 38-year-old man told investigators he was attacked by a pickup truck driver who had been tailgating him. The driver of the truck was later identified as Haynesworth.

Redskins owner Daniel Snyder told reporters Friday that he didn’t know all the facts about the accusation.

Haynesworth has clashed with coach Mike Shanahan and was suspended without pay for the final four games of the season.
