With warm weather here, a number of families in our region may try to get out this weekend, despite the state of emergency.

With most businesses closed and public gatherings banned, the options may be limited to going for walks or taking a drive with social distancing in place.

This is the case in communities across America and many have found a unique way to keep things interesting for children and to spread some warmth.

Inspired by the book “We’re Going On A Bear Hunt,” many people have been placing teddy bears or other stuffed animals in the windows of homes, giving children animals of all shapes and sizes to look for while walking.

This has caught on locally, with nearly all homes on one street in Ashland sporting bears this week.

We think this is a great idea and we encourage everyone to join in. It is a small gesture, but it helps make things a little brighter during this difficult time.
