Kay Ackison
Nov. 20, 1944 — Dec. 26, 2019
Everly “Kay” Ackison, 75, of Pedro, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 at a local nursing home facility.
Kay was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Ironton, a daughter to the late William Emerson and Kathleen (Waggoner) Adams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas “Tom” Ackison, who passed away Oct. 7, 2013.
Kay was a graduate of Ironton High school and was a former paper carrier for the Ironton Tribune for over 20 years. She was also a former Avon Representative and nurse’s aid for Lawrence County General Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Marie Simmons.
Kay is survived by a son, Bill Ackison, of Ironton; a daughter, Molly (Jerry) Jenkins, of Pedro; two granddaughters, Emily (Isaac) Malphrus and Rachel Ackison; several nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Rev. Richard Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery and visitation will be noon until time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Gary Leadingham
Aug. 26, 1948 — Dec. 21, 2019
Gary L. Leadingham, 71, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 at Kings Daughters Medical Center.
The Ashland, Kentucky native was born Aug. 26, 1948, the son of the late Arthur and Dorothy Bryant Leadingham. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lewis Leadingham, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1972.
Mr. Leadingham was a graduate of Ironton High School and went on to receive his Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Ohio University Southern. He was a former construction worker for Armco Steel and a retired boiler operator and custodian for Ironton City Schools. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Leadingham; four sisters and four brothers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gary (Roberta) Leadingham, of Ironton; and a brother, Wayne (Sandy) Leadingham, of Worthington, Kentucky.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, Ohio 45638, with Rev. George Cade officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ann Jones
Feb. 27, 1943 — Dec. 25, 2019
Ann Rita Jones, 76, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, at Sanctuary of Ohio Valley.
Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Ironton; a daughter to the late Daniel Boyle and Minne Lawson Fundersal. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Jones, who passed away in 2004.
Mrs. Jones attended Ironton Schools and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen White; and five brothers, David Boyle, Michael Fundersal, Charlie Boyle, Gary Boyle and Fransis Boyle.
She is survived by a son, David (Stacy) Boyle, of Kenova, West Virginia; a daughter, Patty Wilson, of Ironton; a brother, Danny (Ruth) Boyle, of Pedro; a sister, Patricia Sweeney, of Texas; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be noon Tuesday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton, with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jo Ann Hastings, 75, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.
A service will be held 7 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, with Father Borgmeyer Dean officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Clifford Pat Mechanic, 52, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife Christie Mechanic.

Betty Marie Mayenschein, 93, of South Point, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.
Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday at Family Life Worship Center, 209 N. Second St. Suite B, Ironton, Ohio 45638, with Pastor Todd Munson officiating. Burial will follow in Burlington Greenlawn Cemetery, Burlington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
