PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redwomen might ask for a mulligan in the second quarter.
The Redwomen trailed by just 2 points after the first quarter but managed only 9 points in the second quarter as they lost 59-37 to the Portsmouth West Lady Senators on Saturday.
West (5-6) was up 12-10 after the first quarter as Morgan Rigsby scored 6 points. Savannah Cade had 4 points to keep Rock Hill close.
But the Lady Senators outscored Rock Hill 22-9 in the second quarter as Rigsby had 9 points, C.J. Howard scored 5 points including a 3-pointer and both Eden Cline and Abbi Pack had 3-pointers for West.
Cade scored 7 of Rock Hill’s 9 points.
Rigsby and Maelynn Howell comb ined for 11 points in the third quarter to offset 6 points by MaKayla Scott as West went up 47-29.
Howell scored 6 points in the fourth quarter for West while Keilie Adams hit a 3-pointer and Scott added 3 points for Rock Hill.
Cade and Scott scored 11 points each for Rock Hill (2-8).
Rigsby had a 23 points and Howell 11 to pace West.
Rock Hill plays at Green on Saturday, Jan. 4.
